Tena Koe Hana
A short movie introducing Hana (our daughter) to her Māori heritage and whānau (family) in New Zealand. It was especially important to tell this story as Hana won’t see these whānau members often. I focused on the women family members, interviewing them and showcasing their expertise, as they strive to preserve Māori traditional arts, from weaving korowai to creating kawakawa and black flax based products.

About Rie
Born in Malaysia, raised in Japan and graduated from the University of Hawaii, Rie Miyoshi (Grant) is a videographer, photographer, designer and translator based in Yokohama, Japan. She has over a decade of experience working with travel and tourism in Japan as a producer for Outdoor Japan. She also runs Eat with Meraki, a Mediterranean cooking website and workshop.
